Water based paints on 'amate' bark are paintings elaborated with pre-hispanic techniques. Inspired by the daily life of the Nauhuatl people who paint scenes of village life on the bark of the Ficus Tree (Xalama) that has been boiled in lime water and beaten with a stone until fused and then left to dry.
